August 24th Summer Series Race 11

Force 2/3 winds for the penultimate rounds of the Summer Series.

13 boats made it out for the race, with Paul W setting of first in his Morbic, followed by the rest of the fleet. Ron (Mirror) quickly passed Paul, and stayed ahead for much of the race. Meanwhile, the two Comets of Chris H and Aileen were giving chase. Meanwhile, Hadey, Rick, Sally & Adrian F were all having a close battle in the midfleet.

At the finish gun, Chris H was 1st, with Aileen 2nd and Ron 3rd.

Most boats stayed out for the Handicap. Chris H made it round the first lap ahead, with Rick (ILCA7) just behind in 2nd, and Aileen 3rd. On the subsequent laps, Chris and Rick increased their lead over the rest of the fleet.

Chris H crossed the line 1st, with Rick 2nd and Aileen 3rd. On Handicap, Chris H was 1st, with Aileen 2nd and Ron 3rd.

Whilst the final result for the pursuit series is likely to have been decided, it’s all still to play for, with one race to go in the Handicap series.
