6th August Junior Gillette and Gillette Race 6

A lovely force 3 from the south for the latest rounds of the Gillette and Junior Gillette series.

5 boats made it out for the Junior race, Ilya (Topper 4.2) and Luki (Optimist) has great starts. Both were quickly caught but the faster toppers of Elissa & Ozzie. There was plenty of trading places between the toppers, but Elissa finished in front. Ilya was second and Ozzie 3rd. On Handicap, Ilya took the win, with Elissa 2nd and Ozzie 3rd.

15 boats made it out for the Adult race which due to a last minute wind shift, had a major Port bias. Despite this, the boats were well spread out across the line. Hugh (ILCA7) was first around the windward mark, followed by Newton (Solo) & Will S (ILCA7). A close battle ensued between the three, before Will got ahead on the second lap. The RS200 of Steve & Rick had caught up and was now fighting for 3rd place.

Elsewhere, Roland S (Solo), Karen (Comet), Ian H (ILCA7) & Ralph & Alé (470) were all having a close battle in the mid fleet.

Will S crossed the line first, with Newton 2nd & Hugh 3rd. On Handicap, Newton took the win, with Karen 2nd and Will S 3rd.
