To err is human, to arr, pirate! or now called “Splash and Sail”
Due to popular request the Sunday afternoon sailing sessions (Splash and Sail) will take place during term time on Sundays between Spring and September. The sailing fun and games start from 14:00 after Sunday racing and we plan to finish around 16:00. For persons aged 7 – 18, though for those under 16 parents have to remain on-site and be responsible for their child(ren).
There is no training in these sessions therefore a basic level of unsupervised sailing ability (RYA Stage 1) is required. This will enable all people to enjoy the afternoon as it is all about having fun on the water-weather permitting.
Often families come down for the afternoon, bringing supplies for a picnic or bar-be-que making the afternoon into a family event with many games and laughter.
Any volunteers to help supervise (join in) are welcome and needed.
There is a safety boat out as soon as anyone is on the water, though this is primarily for the children. The numbers of children on the water will be restricted by the number of on the water helpers.
