{"id":208,"date":"2016-06-26T16:26:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-26T16:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.readingsc.org.uk\/members\/2016\/06\/26\/summer-series-4-26th-june\/"},"modified":"2016-06-26T16:26:00","modified_gmt":"2016-06-26T16:26:00","slug":"summer-series-4-26th-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.readingsc.org.uk\/members\/2016\/06\/26\/summer-series-4-26th-june\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Series 4  &#8211; 26th June"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"color:#000;background-color:#fff;font-family:HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, Sans-Serif;font-size:16px\">\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>With a  NW 11 mph wind Karen used a Tektona start with a first beat to X (between 4 and  3 on the buoy line) then 2p, 6s, 8s, 1s and back through the start.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><b><span>Pursuit Race<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>There  were 22 starters and first away was Gordon P in his Mirror, but Chris H (Comet)  led at the end of the first lap followed by Mike A (Lightning) then Curtis in  the first of the Lasers.&nbsp; Peter S (Byte  II) came through in 4<sup>th<\/sup> place with fast moving Paul R (Aero) in 5<sup>th<\/sup>  and Chris A (Solo) 6<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>The gun  went on the second lap and by this time Julian B (OK) was just in front of Paul  with Curtis still 3<sup>rd<\/sup> and Chris H 4<sup>th<\/sup>, Mike A 5<sup>th<\/sup>  and Jon 6<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><b><span>Handicap Race<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>Gordon  and Mark B sat the second race out so the fleet was down to 20 boats. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>Jon C  (Laser) was first back through the line chased by Paul R (Aero), then the  Lasers of Hugh, Steve P, Curtis, James and Richard S. Julian B (OK) came  through in 8<sup>th<\/sup> place followed by Ken P in yet another Laser. &nbsp;There was only one Solo out today helmed by  Chris A and he was battling with Peter R (Enterprise) Peter S (Byte II) and  Adrian (Vago) for 10<sup>th<\/sup> place. Behind them Chris H (Comet) was trying  to hold off the Lasers of Rick and Gareth and bringing up the rear of the fleet  were Dean &amp; Nick (Vago), Alistair S (Laser) and Angela &amp; Paula (Comet  Duo).<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>At the  end of the second lap Jon and Paul crossed the line together and Julian had  moved up to 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>Richard  S had gained three places to move up to 4<sup>th<\/sup> and James was up one  place to 5<sup>th <\/sup>with<sup> <\/sup>Curtis dropping to 6<sup>th<\/sup>. Ken  P had made up two places to 7<sup>th <\/sup>and Peter R was up four places to 8<sup>th<\/sup>.  Peter S gained three places to move to 11<sup>th<\/sup> and Dean &amp; Nick had  gained five places to move to 13<sup>th<\/sup>. Gareth and Alistair had managed  to get past Rick when he became stranded at 8!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt\"><span>At the  finish gun Paul crossed the line in 1<sup>st<\/sup> place just ahead of Jon with  Julian still 3<sup>rd <\/sup>and Richard S still 4<sup>th<\/sup>, but Peter R had  gained another three places to move up to 5<sup>th<\/sup>.
