About a minute later Newton (Solo) crossed the line in 5<sup>th<\/sup> place\nleading the gaggle of Jeremy, Curtis and Joe in Lasers, then Dave &amp; Ann\n(Leader), Chris H (Comet), Ralph (Laser) Mike C &amp; Sam (Wanderer), Sally\n&amp; Stuart (Leader). Finally Steve had chance to draw breath for a minute before\nRick (Laser) came along in company with Dean &amp; Nick (Vago), Chris A (Solo),\nMike T (Laser), Paul H (Laser), Adrian (Vago s\/h), Ron (Mirror), Emily (Topper),\nNigel (Laser) and Jemima (Oppie) with Chris &amp; Carol (420) bringing up the\nrear. This lot were virtually line astern and we can thank our lucky stars that\nsomeone else (namely Steve and his team) was having to log them across the line!\n&nbsp;Mike A (Lightning) did not make it across\nthe line as his mainsheet came adrift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ellen still led at the end of the second lap with\nKaren overtaking Mark and Mike Tr to move up to 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place. The next\nfour maintained station, but Ralph moved up two places to 9<sup>th<\/sup> and\nRick passed Sally &amp; Stuart to move to 13<sup>th<\/sup>. Paul H gained two places\nby passing Chris A and Mike T and further back Nigel also gained two places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the third lap Mark B took the lead with Karen\nstill in 2nd and Ellen slipping to 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place. Mike Tr, Newton and\nJeremy held their places, but Ralph moved up two to 7<sup>th <\/sup>by passing\nCurtis and Joe. Rick had a good lap moving up three places to 10<sup>th<\/sup>\nand Dean &amp; Nick made up four to move to 11<sup>th<\/sup>. Paul H and Adrian\nboth gained a place. Jemima and Chris &amp; Carol received the finish gun at\nthe end of the lap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the fourth and last lap there was no\nchange in the first six, but Joe had regained two places to finish in 7<sup>th<\/sup>\nplace. Mike C &amp; Sam pipped Dave &amp; Ann to take the double handed honours\nand Chris H got past Dave &amp; Ann. Mike T made up two places by passing\nAdrian and Nigel. Poor Chris A having sailed all four laps found himself\ndisqualified for sailing the wrong course!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final order on the water was \u2013 1<sup>st<\/sup> Mark B; 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Karen; 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\nEllen; 4<sup>th<\/sup> Mike Tr; 5<sup>th<\/sup> Newton; 6<sup>th<\/sup> Jeremy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On corrected time the order should be \u2013 1<sup>st<\/sup> Mark; 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Newton; 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\nKaren; 4<sup>th<\/sup> Ellen; 5<sup>th<\/sup> Mike Tr; 6<sup>th<\/sup> Mike C\n&amp; Sam<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to Steve S and the OOD team of Ferdinando,\nHugh, John H and Rich F. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With a SW wind of about 9-10 mph, Steve S set the first mark as 4 then A (roughly near 2 but further in to miss the lee of the trees) then 5, 8, 6, 7 and back through the start.
