The club runs a full racing calendar throughout the year with races held every Sunday morning, racing on Wednesday evenings also takes place in the summer. In addition cup races are held on bank holidays. On Cup days the solo, laser, enterprise and mirror classes have separate prizes. Races are run on a handicap or pursuit basis using PY numbers. In addition to the overall results, positions are scored in three fleets: PY<1110; 1111<PY<1200 and PY>1201.

See the calendar for the Racing Programme.

Handicap Races

All boats start together and their time to complete a certain number of laps of the course are recorded. Results are determined afterwards by dividing the finish time by the Portsmouth yardstick number for the class of boats. Faster boats have a smaller number so will need to complete the course in less time than a slower boat. Handicaps
