Enterprise
The Enterprise is one of the most distinctive dinghies afloat.
Designed by Jack Holt in 1956, it remains one of the most popular
2-man dinghies with over 23,000 boats registered. The Enterprise
is suitable for relatively inexperienced sailors and is ideal for
mixed crews.
RSC members own about twenty Enterprises of which five race regularly.

Mirror
The Mirror with its red sails is another class of boat which is
both distinctive and familiar. There are over 70,000 of them world
wide, manufactured in either wood or fibreglass.
RSC members own about twenty, of which four or five are regularly
raced.
Currently we are home to the National Champions, namely Hector
Cisneros and his son Ben. No mean feat for which the club offers
our hearty congratulations.
Laser
The Laser is the worlds most popular dinghy with over 175,000 sold.
It is primarily a simple to rig single hander with an unstayed mast.
It could prove a difficult first boat but smaller Radial or 4.7
sails are available to reduce the power for lighter or more inexperienced
sailors. The Laser is the most popular class at Reading Sailing Club with 7 - 10 boats regularly racing.

Solo
The Solo was originally designed in 1956 by Jack Holt. It is suitable
for both beginners and experienced sailors alike and can be handled
by anyone from 60kg upwards. It is particularly well suited to the
lake at Reading Sailing Club and the class has been popular here
ever since it was first designed. Boats are made from wood, GRP
or a combination of both, known as composite. Second hand boats
cost from around £400 to £5000. The best place to look for Solos
for sale is the official website.
